Al Halverson

I entered the Real Estate profession 40 years ago with my father as my mentor. He based his business on integrity, honesty, trust, and doing what was right for the home buyer & seller. These core values were instilled in me. I now have the opportunity to work with and mentor my son, Brady, who just recently retired from the Cleveland Indians, a professional baseball organization. He is a "3rd Generation Realtor." I’ll instill in him these same values. These core values guide our day-to-day business. We welcome the opportunity to work with you to meet any of your real estate needs…

Brady Halverson

Dear family and friends, I thank each of you for taking a few moments to read this letter. It is important to me, that I share with you, my recent career change decision. As most of you are aware, I have spent the last year as an employee of the Cleveland Indians. More specifically, I was a pitcher for the Burlington (North Carolina) Indians, a minor league affiliate of Cleveland. In September, our season ended, and the next step was to report for spring training in March. However, shortly thereafter, the team learned that the Burlington facility was bought by the Kansas City Royals organization. How quickly the game I love became a business. Essentially, my job with the Indians went away. A few months later, I received a phone call from the Indians confirming that I had been released. There was certainly the possibility that I would be acquired by another organization. Truly, I invested a lot in my baseball career: from the endless rehabilitation hours required for "Tommy John" surgery, to the days and months away from family and friends. However, it is at this point, with much sadness but no regret, I have decided to retire the un-hittable curve ball and pursue other opportunities. Baseball has been a large part of my life, and the experience was exciting, invaluable, and taught me many lessons; Lessons that can be applied both personally and professionally. Although this was a difficult decision, it is the right one. This brings me to my current situation. All athletes are advised to have a "plan B" given the volatile nature of professional sports. Toward the end of summer I began attending real estate school. At the conclusion of the real estate course I took and passed the state test, and recently placed my license with Windermere Real Estate. Windermere sponsored two weeks of "Pro Start" training, which provides practical tools used in the real estate world. I am now a certified real estate professional. I have merely scraped the surface of the real estate profession and realize I have much to learn. However, I have a great teacher, my father. He has shared a glimpse of the many opportunities, as well as the humbling realities. His mentorship and lessons learned have already offered great returns. I foresee an exciting future as a realtor, and want my family and friends to be the first to know of this change in my life. I want to thank you, sincerely, for your enthusiasm and interest during my baseball career. I look forward to your continued support.
